WINEMAKER NOTES

“Blueprint Sauvignon Blanc 2022 shows vibrant aromas of honeydew melon, tangerine, green and yellow apple, lime and Asian pear. The texture is creamy and complex, with grapefruit, jasmine and Bartlett pear notes. There is a distinct minerability character, bolstered by citrus zest, sweet peas, mango and yellow elements. It is snappy, vivid, zippy and spirited - very much exemplary of the varietal.”— Philippe Melka & Maayan Koschitzky, Winemakers

2021 Sauvignon Blanc

Georgia is grown on a three acre, dry-farmed estate vineyard in Yountville. This exquisite, Graves-style (dry white Bordeaux) Sauvignon Blanc is fermented and aged in 100% French oak barrels for eighteen months. It displays unprecedented depth and complexity, amazing texture, and a long lingering finish. Lail Vineyards was the first winery in the New World to produce a Sauvignon Blanc in this complex and captivating style, beginning with the 2002 vintage. The proprietary name celebrates the first member of the sixth generation of our family’s winemaking in Napa Valley, Georgia Eileen. It has been called by a leading wine writer”…California’s most complex and multi-dimensional Sauvignon Blanc.”

WINEMAKER NOTES

“ Georgia Sauvignon Blanc 2021 is medium straw in color. Dynamic and spirited, the aromas burst forth with citrus, honeyed flowers and stone fruit notes. The flavors include apricot, lemon, minty herbs and coconut. There are the hallmark Georgia expressions of minerality, white truffle and toasted brioche filling out the zingy and energetic finish. This will impress early and for many years to come.”

2021 Cabernet Sauvignon

100 points - Robert Parker Wine Advocate

J. DANIEL CUVÉE STORY

“I was raised by my dad. John Daniel, Jr., in the grand family tradition of Inglenook. He was, like Gustave Niebaum before him, a leader, an innovator, and the producer of legendary wines. Our flagship wine at Lail Vineyards, the J. Daniel Cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon, is named in his honor. My greatest challenge at Lail Vineyards is to create wines that meet and exceed the level of excellence set by my family in earlier generations."- Robin Daniel Lail

WINEMAKER NOTES

“The 2021 growing season was flawless, yielding a smallish crop of intensely flavored berries possessing great intensity and impeccable balance. Vibrant aromas of black cherry, raspberry, violets and dark chocolate burst forth. The signature flavors of blackberry preserves, boysenberry and spice are here in spades. It is elegant and silky, and at the same time powerful, complex and insistent. The tannins are focused, ripe and round, with supporting acidity that is bright and lively. There is concentration, clarity and drive that add up to a gorgeous expressive of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon at its very highest level." — Philippe Melka & Maayan Koschitzky, Winemakers

2021 Cabernet Sauvignon

Wells Wilder Casten is the youngest of our family’s 6th generation. Her name is derived from the Wellington boot, first commissioned by the Duke of Wellington in 1815. A nod to our farming heritage, wellies are a hallmark of country life, both hardy and elegant. Fittingly our Welly has a singular love of gumboots and tutus, a teeny stardust in the vineyard and on the street. Like its spirited namesake, our Welly Cabernet Sauvignon is unabashedly expressive and pure. This wine is our tribute to her, and to our family’s 140 years of turning dirt into liquid splendor.

WINEMAKER NOTES

“The 2021 growing season in Napa Valley was close to perfect, which allowed the flavors and structure to develop slowly and precisely. Deep purple-black in color, Welly Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 gives up crushed wild blackberries, black cherry preserves, oolong tea and candied violets. The brambly black fruit flavors (loganberry, marionberry, boysenberry, olallieberry, youngberry) pile on, accented by sweet oak vanillin and dark chocolate. The full-bodied palate explodes with a powerhouse of black mulberry, dewberry and super-ripe plum layers, framed by ripe, velvety tannins. The finish is seamless, luxurious, and opulent, with amazing tension and class. This is a Welly for the ages.”

2019 Cabernet Sauvignon

Mole Hill is the crown jewel of Lail Vineyards. It is an ultra-luxury wine bordering on decadent with its showcase of Howell Mountain seductive aromatics, velvety palate of fascinating complexity and a lingering finish which remains when you set down your glass. Production is small and demand is big. Produced only from the best growing seasons, this serious wine also has a sense of humor. Each year the path of the mole changes on the label designating a new vintage for your collection.

WINEMAKER NOTES

"Vintage 2019 was pure beauty in Napa Valley, with an easy growing season delivering grapes with wonderful balance and intensity. For this vintage of Mole Hill, tantalizing aromas of dark chocolate, espresso, and black cherry lead into broad and layered wild blackberry, boysenberry, and black raspberry flavors. It is framed by classic briar, vanilla cream and mocha notes supported by elegant and fine tannins and taut acidity. This is a classic expression of Howell Mountain and the Mole Hill vineyard.”
