Other Notes
Georgia is grown on a three acre, dry-farmed estate vineyard in Yountville. This exquisite, Graves-style (dry white Bordeaux) Sauvignon Blanc is fermented and aged 100% new French oak barrels for eighteen months. It displays unprecedented depth and complexity, amazing texture, and a long lingering finish. Lail Vineyards was the first winery in the New World to produce a Sauvignon Blanc in this complex and captivating style, beginning with the 2002 vintage. The proprietary name celebrates the first member of the sixth generation of our family's winemaking in Napa Valley, Georgia Eileen. It has been called by a leading wine writer "...California's most complex and multi-dimensional Sauvignon Blanc."

WINEMAKER NOTES

"2016 in Napa Valley provided perfect growing conditions for the Sauvignon Grape, and our Georgia brilliantly reflects this. Its aromatics explode with jasmine, white truffle, pear, white peach and brioche, with intense flavors adding melon, nectarine and tangerine. The texture is creamy and rich, with a lingering finish that goes on for minutes. This is classic Georgia...it simply has it all!"  - Philippe Melka, Winemaker

ACCOLADES

94 - 96 Points (barrel sample)

"A barrel sample, the 2016 Georgia Sauvignon Blanc is slightly closed, offering up notions of fresh lemons, white peaches and orange blssoms with touches of wild thyme, garrigue and crushed rocks. Medium-bodied with seriously zippy acid, it has wonderful tension with very tightly knit fruit, finishing with incredible length." —Robert Parker, Jr., The Wine Advocate

91-94 Points (barrel sample)

"The 2016 Sauvignon Blanc Georgia is wonderfully fresh and nuanced. It has perhaps just a touch more depth than the 2015, but ultimately it is made in a similar vein that balances fruit intensity with structure. Chamomile, lemon confit and floral notes lead into the attractive finish." —Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
