Other Notes
Georgia is grown on a three acre, dry-farmed estate vineyard in Yountville. This exquisite, Graves-style (dry white Bordeaux) Sauvignon Blanc is fermented and aged in 100% new French oak barrels for eighteen months. It displays unprecedented depth and complexity, amazing texture, and a long lingering finish. Lail Vineyards was the first winery in the New World to produce a Sauvignon Blanc in this complex and captivating style, beginning with the 2002 vintage. The proprietary name celebrates the first member of the sixth generation of our family's winemaking in Napa Valley, Georgia Eileen. It has been called by a leading wine writer"...California's most complex and multi-dimensional Sauvignon Blanc."

WINEMAKER NOTES

"Georgia Sauvignon Blanc 2018 is medium straw color, and has captivating white peach, vanilla bean, brioche and lemongrass aromatics. Rich in texture, there are intense flavors of apricot, lemon curd, and nectarine. It is powerful, sophisticated, round and long on the palate, with all the hallmarks of this wonderful Graves-inspired yet wholly California interpretation of the Sauvignon Blanc grape."  - Philippe Melka, Winemaker

94 - 96 pts | THE WINE ADVOCATE

“ A finished blend, the barrel sample of 2018 Georgia Sauvignon Blanc (100% Sauvignon Blanc) has beautiful understated perfume of waxed lemons, citron, fresh grapefruit and tangerine peel with touches of lime leaves, white pepper and crushed rocks. The palate is medium-bodied, vibrant, intense and wonderfully fresh, finishing long and mineral laced." — Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, Robert Parker Wine Advocate
